Bryson City is known for life outside. We have water sports, epic hikes and all the adventurous things you could think to do in the mountains. A little known fact though is this area makes the perfect romantic getaway for a couple looking to unplug and connect to each other. By virtue of being this remote, presence is basically a requirement when you visit this part of Western North Carolina. Here are some of our favorite places to unwind together in The Great Smoky Mountains!
Dinner for two at The Bistro on Everette
The Bistro on Everette is the perfect place to get cozy and in the moment. With its dim lighting, excellent craft cocktail and wine list and delicious food, it has all the makings for a romantic meal for two. We’ve celebrated several anniversaries and life milestones here, but it’s also great for a romantic dinner just because! #CoupleGoals indeed.
Enjoy a glass of wine together at Deep Creek Winery
The views here are where it’s at! There are few places you can sit on a deck enjoying the breeze and see mountains rippling like waves in the distance. This will certainly get you in the mood to connect. Small caveat, Deep Creek Winery is open at odd hours and usually closes early, so this is an excellent afternoon spot to enjoy midday after a hike!
Take a stroll at Deep Creek
Speaking of hiking, let’s take a walk in Deep Creep in the Great Smokies National Park. Leave the world behind and tune into nature and each other. First, there are three waterfalls located on this trail through the forest. It is seriously one of the most stunning strolls you will ever take. Second, it’s a relatively easy hike that feels more like a walk, so you can keep a nice pace and still have a conversation. It truly is one of those special trails that will leave you feeling revived.
Share a morning cup of coffee
We are huge fans of coffee moments here. No shame in our caffeine game. But seriously, wherever you stay, sharing a hot cup of coffee and conversation is one of the best ways to set the tone for a day of connecting with each other.
In our regular day-to-day lives, it’s hard to share this time together. We’re usually on the go, opting to have our morning cup of Jo in the car or at work. We highly recommend making it an intention to begin the day together. Our hygge suites were designed with this cozy moment in mind, but again, wherever you stay it’s the intention that counts.
